How to install a travel eSIM on Samsung
Galaxy S, Z and Note setup with a QR code or activation code, plus fixes when Samsung will not connect.
Samsung menus differ slightly by model and One UI version, but the path is the same: SIM manager, add eSIM, then data roaming.
1. Galaxy phones that usually support eSIM
Galaxy S
S20 (not S20 FE), and the S21, S22, S23 and S24 series. Later Galaxy S models also support eSIM where Samsung ships that hardware.
Galaxy Z
Z Fold 2 and newer, and Z Flip 3 and newer.
Galaxy Note
Note 20 Ultra on many international versions. US carrier models (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) sometimes block third-party eSIMs.
If SIM manager has no “Add eSIM”, the phone cannot use this plan.
2. Before you start
- Install the latest Android update.
- Turn VPN apps off.
- Confirm Add eSIM appears under Connections → SIM manager.
- Have the QR code from the Premium Brands order email ready.
3. Install with the QR code
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Choose Scan QR code and point the camera at the code.
- Tap Add and wait for the profile to install.
- In SIM manager, switch the new eSIM on.
- Turn on Data roaming for that eSIM. This is required abroad.
4. Install with an activation code
- Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
- Add eSIM → enter it manually / use activation code.
- Type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the email.
- Turn on data roaming and select the eSIM for mobile data.
5. Common problems
QR code will not scan
- Increase screen brightness on the device showing the code.
- Make sure the image is sharp and not cropped.
- Enter the activation code by hand.
No signal after you land
- Data roaming is on.
- The travel eSIM is the mobile-data line.
- Airplane mode is off.
- Restart the phone and wait a few minutes.
“Can’t activate eSIM”
- Check Wi-Fi.
- Restart.
- Turn VPN off.
- Update the system software and try again.
Premium Brands can replace a profile that fails for a supplier fault. Contact support before you remove the eSIM.
